Successfully Synchronization for the Unit of Ethiopia Reppie Waste to Energy Power Plant
At 23:37 on July 27, 2018, the unit 1# of Ethiopia Reppie Waste to Energy Power Plant, operated by Shandong LiNeng Electric Technology Co., Ltd. successfully synchronized to the grid, marking the beginning of power generation of the first waste to energy power plant.
Since the power inversely was supplied on April 28, 2018, the project department actively worked hard and prepared for all kinds of jobs. On July 15, furnaces 1# and 2# completed pipes blowing. On July 27, unit 1# synchronized to the grid, and all the tests succeeded for initial start.
Reppie Waste to Energy Power Plant is located in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. It is a power plant that disposes 1200 tons of municipal solid waste per day. Two 600 t/d waste incineration lines are installed in the power plant. It is the first Waste to Energy power plant in Ethiopia, also the first one in Africa. It is one of Ethiopia's two green energy projects participating in international carbon emissions trading and enforces the most stringent EU 2000 environmental standards.
